“On January 14, CODAA held a “Welcome Back Luncheon” for both active and “Fair Share” union members in SRC 2131 (the Old Board Room). It was great seeing the members who could make it to the party, which included approximately 70 who stopped by to share lunch and conversation. Several members used this opportunity to revise their membership from “Fair Share” to“Active” status. Active members receive additional benefits from the IEA/NEA and can be nominated to our Executive Board or as an IEA regional representative and are able to vote in our elections for officers in the local as well as IEA/NEA elections. (These elections are coming up in March.) It is way to have more of a voice in how you are represented.
If you are interested in upgrading prior to the upcoming elections, please contact our Membership Chair, Vicki Root-Wajda or send an e-mail request to [email protected] There is a nominal annual increase in your dues of $30 when you become a full active (voting) member. This amount is more than compensated if you use even a few of the additional benefits offered through IEA/NEA.
