On February 25, 2015 adjuncts across the country will come together to insist on fair wages and better working conditions. National Adjunct Walkout Day was proposed in October by an adjunct professor of writing at San Jose State University who wants to remain anonymous, citing concerns about job security and a desire for the protest not to have a designated leader.
CODAA supports the spirit of National Adjunct Walkout Day. CODAA has not planned any activities in conjunction with the day and does not advise adjuncts at College of DuPage to walk out of their classrooms. However, we encourage all CODAA members to work with the CODAA leadership in improving conditions for adjuncts at College of DuPage. You can help by being an engaged member of CODAA. If you are fair share, shift to active status; contact members of the CODAA leadership with ideas or concerns; consider running for a CODAA Board position. We number close to 600 members and our voice can be heard.
