Become a member of CODAA by joining the IEA/NEA

CODAA members are also members of the IEA/NEA (Illinois Education Association/ National Education Association)

Instructions for teaching faculty:

  • Go to join.ieanea.org.
  • This will take you to the Join IEA page.
    • Scroll down and hover over Higher Education Certified.
    • And click on Join Now.
  • This will take you to the Membership Enrollment page.
    • Answer the questions.
    • Your enrollment type is new member.
    • For your projected starting salary, enter your creditable earnings for the 2023 academic year from SURS.
    • Your classification is Higher Education-Certified.
    • Your Membership Type is Higher Education – Quarter Time
    • Click on Continue.
  • This will take you to the Employment page.
    • Select College of DuPage and CODAA from the menus.
    • The other fields on this page are optional.
    • Click on Continue.
  • This will take you to the Position page.
    • All the fields here are optional.
    • Click Continue.
  • This will take you to the Dues page.
    • Select your Payment Method from the menu.
    • CODAA strongly encourages our members to use a payroll deduction.
    • Click Continue
  • This will take you to the Personal Information page.
    • Fill out the form.
    • Click Continue.
  • This will take you to the Interests page.
    • Fill out the form as you wish.
    • Click Continue.
  • This will take you to the Authorization page.
    • Fill out the form.
    • Click Submit Membership Form.

Instructions for Tutors

  • Go to join.ieanea.org.
  • This will take you to the Join IEA page.
    • Scroll down and hover over Higher Education -Education Support Professional.
    • And click on Join Now.
  • This will take you to the Membership Enrollment page.
    • Answer the questions.
    • Your enrollment type is new member.
    • Your classification is Higher Education-Education Support Professional.
    • Click on Continue.
  • This will take you to the Employment page.
    • Select College of DuPage and CODAA from the menus.
    • The other fields on this page are optional.
    • Click on Continue.
  • This will take you to the Position page.
    • All the fields here are optional.
    • Click Continue.
  • This will take you to the Dues page.
    • Select your Payment Method from the menu.

    • Click Continue
  • This will take you to the Personal Information page.
    • Fill out the form.
    • Click Continue.
  • This will take you to the Interests page.
    • Fill out the form as you wish.
    • Click Continue.
  • This will take you to the Authorization page.
    • Fill out the form.
    • Click Submit Membership Form.

How to find your 2024 SURS earnings

  • Go to the SURS website surs.org.
  • Click on Member Login.
  • If you have not done so previously, you will have to set up your account.
  • If you forgot your password or log in information, you will also need to set up a new account.
  • You need your SURS account number, so you may need to call.
  • For the multi-factor Authorization select either email or text message.
  • Click on Continue.
  • On the Disclaimer page, click on I ACCEPT.
  • From the menu at the top, click on My SURS.
  • From the menu on the left, click on Earnings History.
  • Select 2024 for Academic Year.
  • The number in the bottom right corner of the table is your earnings for 2024.
