CODAA Invites Members to Attend the IEA/NEA One Conference – Oct 20-21, 2017

As a CODAA member, you are invited to attend the IEA/NEA One Conference free of charge. The conference, which is held on October 20-21, 2017 at the Double Tree Oakbrook, offers many sessions of interest to those of us in higher education. This conference is a great way to learn more about the IEA/NEA, engage in professional development, and meet other CODAA members, as well as members of other adjunct associations.

If you would like to attend, DO NOT register yourself or you will have to pay the registration fee. Instead, email me at [email protected] from your personal email account. Include your full name and academic department. I will then add you to our group registration. After I register you, you will be sent a confirmation email message and will be able to edit your registration to choose your sessions and meals. As president of CODAA, I invite you to join your CODAA officers at this conference in October.

College of DuPage Board of Trustees approves the CODAA contract

On Friday, August 18th, the College of DuPage Board of Trustees approved the CODAA contract. The Board’s approval followed three days of voting by CODAA members who overwhelmingly voted for ratification. The contract is in effect from 2017-2021.

CODAA Fall Membership Meeting and Contract Ratification Voting: Wednesday 8/16

We had a successful membership meeting on Wednesday 8/16, and the new contract with the college was ratified.

Donna Stewart, Interim VP of Academic Affairs, addressed the membership about many issues pertaining to academic affairs. All adjuncts are encouraged to make sure that course objectives or learning outcomes on a syllabus match with the description on the Active Course File.

Mission

The mission of CODAA is to create a unified voice for adjunct faculty, and Part Time advisors and counselors at the College of DuPage in order to improve our working conditions and thereby improve the quality of our students’ education. Only with a unified voice can we truly take part in the College of DuPage’s mission while holding the College’s Administration accountable to it:

To be at the forefront of higher education
To serve the needs of the community
To offer the highest quality educational opportunities
To recognize, develop, and support excellence in teaching
